Ok, I don’t want anyone to think that I will be posting everyday, but so much is happening that I want to journal. First, I found work. Last month. But I am sooooooo excited to be working. Who knew I would be able to work where I love going to find time to do something relaxing for me?!! Anyway, I love that I am working, I love where I am working…I loving all of it. The best part of it all is that sometimes there are even more benefits to working there. My workplace is offering free admission to certain museums right now…as long as you can find the case to check out. There are three of them right now, The Washington State History Museum, Play Pass (for children) & The Tacoma Art Museum. So that’s what happened with the History Museum, I found a case and we went. Today, I had the opportunity to work at another location. OMGosh, there it was a case for the Art Museum. I snatched it up as fast as I could. I can’t wait to go…it’ll probably be some time in the next two weeks

It was a rocky start. It never helps to start the day late–because you will always be running late…ALL DAY LONG. So instead of making breakfast at home, we had to have English muffin breakfasts from Subway. At least we only had water…the temptation of soda was nipping at me. For lunch we had clam chowder…it gets worse. We had homemade burgers. The chowder…well, what can you say. Wanted to eat it, …both of us. The burger, (I know it wasn’t the smarted choice to make) at least was made at home with whole wheat buns, homemade sauce, meat & veggies. I usually can’t stomach what I make (don’t know why, my friend tells me it’s all in my head), but this was ok. I could eat it. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better.

Today was an eventful day. First, we missed Church…that was the worst part of the day. The second worst part was that we would hurry, drive away from the house and remembered forgotten things…like the museum pass, directions, etc. I hate being unprepared…makes you have to catch up all day long, so exhausting.

Anyway, on with the good. The museum was great! So much information about what happened in the very area we all call home. In the many different exhibits, I found some interesting things…my husband took some pictures.

This was a mask of many along the walkway of the museum. It’s hard to see in the picture, but the there are layers of art on top of each other. Truly amazing to see.

This was a map of the Indian Reservation used to divide land.

Upstairs on the 5th Floor, were more exhibits. This was a room dedicated to Chess. Chess or a similar form of it, is popular in many countries. In this exhibit, there were many different chess pieces, like the one shown…one set of chess pieces were all made of nuts, bolts & washers (lost the picture to that one…)

This was a painting of Mt. Rainier that used to hang inside the Rainier Beer Brewery. It was the first item you see as you walk in on the 5th Floor…the picture doesn’t do it justice.

This is Chief Sealth (or Seattle).

This was made from 11 different types of trees all found here in Washington. Around President Washington is the 4 major industries of Washington.

I had a wonderful time. A lot of walking…but we decided to chalk it up to exercise for the day mjt 4/11/10
